Fox Poker Club aims to build the world's premier Poker Club right here in London. UK law means that we needed a Casino Licence limited to operating games of equal chance, we were granted this by Westminster Magistrates Court in May 2008 and such a licence allows us to operate a full range of tournaments and other cash events. We have spent 4 years going through the process of obtaining our license , but when you see the difference this will make to the way we operate it will be worth it.
Named after the famous 18th Century gambler, Charles Fox, we anticipate the Fox Poker Club will open its doors near to London's Piccadilly Circus in the first half of 2009.
Fox Poker Club initially identified three locations for its proposed clubs: London's Piccadilly/Mayfair, Birmingham and Bournemouth. Having obtained certificates of consent from the Gambling Commission and planning permission on all three units, applications were made in late 2007 for Licences to operate the clubs. The London hearing was successful in late March 2008 and the cases for both Bournemouth and Birmingham were heard in the Magistrates courts in July 2008; unfortunately the big chains of casinos fought hard in court to prevent us opening and we were unsuccessful in both applications. So as we stand we will only be opening one club in central London and we intend to make it the best in the world.
